Official Game Launch: The game is now out of Beta and is fully finished! Huge amount of bug fixes as well.


Changelog (4/30/2021)

With this update, the game is now out of beta and is now considered to be a full game! From here on out, there will only be bug fixes and minor updates, if any updates.

New features:

New Levels:

  • Entirely redesigned tutorial! The tutorial level now has art from all 3 of the levels incorporated into it and looks much better than the bland space it was before.
  • Suspicious Sands! This level is full of desert-themed things such as cacti, a desert house, a temple, and more. The music for this level was created by Emma Branch.
  • Powdery Peaks! This level is full of snowy/ice things such as snow, snowmen, frozen ice, mittens, and more. The music for this level was created by Emma Branch.
  • These levels will features teleporters to return to the Hub world and allow for easy movement between levels.

New Items:

  • Super Claws! This item will negate the effects of the quicksand temporarily.
  • Kitten Mittens! This item will negate the effects of the frozen lakes temporarily.
  • Mana Potion! This item ill restore part of the player’s missing mana, given that they are indeed missing mana.

New Hazards:

  • Quicksand! This quicksand will make the player a lot slower and slow down the player’s mouse sensitivity drastically while the player is touching the quicksand.
  • Frozen Lakes! These frozen lakes will make the player a lot faster and speed up the player’s mouse sensitivity drastically while the player is touching the frozen lakes.

New Mechanics:

  • Winning a level will instantly return you to the Hub world instead of ending the game.
  • Winning all 3 levels and completing the Tutorial will bring you to the “You Win” screem (unless you are on the Main Menu, so you can delete you Saved Data if you want to).
  • Winning a level will prevent that teleporter from ever appearing again, so you know which levels you have already beaten.
  • Automatically updating Controls UI that will detect whether or not you’re using a controller and will update the controls you see accordingly. This also affects the “how to play” section.
  • New Mechanic in Magician’s Meadow: Infected Trees! In addition to curing the slimes, you must also cure the trees in this level! The trees don’t need to be attacked, simply hit them with your magical cure ability.
  • Enemy slimes will now pathfind and move towards the player!

New Enemies:

  • Sand Slime! This sand-colored slime is the sand cousin of the forest slime. Acts the same as a forest slime.
  • Snow Slime! This snow-colored slime is the snow cousin of the forest slime. Acts the same as a forest slime.
  • New miniboss: Dog Mage! This enemy will function as a mini boss and spawn enemies for the player to defeat.

Misc:

  • Less lag due to not checking for certain things as often as they were checked before (i.e. only checking for things once instead of every millisecond)
  • The HUD now displays the name of the current level.
  • The ammo pickup now has a model instead of being a shape (it is now a bundle of arrows).
  • The health pickup now spins to make it more noticeable.
  • Removed the volume slider, as it did not actually change the volume.
  • Added cheats into the “settings” menu. You may give yourself infinite health, ammo, and mana. The game will remember your saved settings even when changing levels and quitting the game.

Bug Fixes:

  • Camera no longer freaks out when touching an enemy.
  • Health treats now only restore health to the player if the player is actually missing health.
  • Ammo pickups now only restore ammo if the player is actually missing ammo.
  • Ammo pickups no longer get bounced around if the player has max ammo and touches the ammo pickup.
  • Fixed a bug with the second level not actually being remembered correctly after you beat it.
  • Fixed a bug where clicking “unequip everything” would play the audio for magic and activate the magic cooldown UI.
  • Xbox One bindings from last build were actually completely bugged out; should be fixed now.
  • Player’s walking animation now correctly plays when walking.
  • The snow slime no longer flies out of the world when hit with an arrow.
  • The player can now cure the snow slime.
  • The dog mage can no longer be hurt while their shield is active.
  • Changed settings should now properly stay changed when changing levels / quitting the game.
